Alongside my private practice, I volunteer for an LGBTQ specialist charity, providing 1:1 therapy for adults accessing the talking therapies service.

Working within a Person-Centred approach, I provided 1:1 face to face counselling for adult and adolescent students accessing the dedicated on campus counselling services.

My training covered person-centred & integrative approaches, alongside: - Psychodynamic therapy - Gestalt therapy - Cognitive behavioural therapy - Transactional analysis I also have a special interest and further (CPD) training in: - Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) - Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) - Existential therapy This means there are a range of therapeutic modalities that I can draw from, depending on what might be most appropriate for the work that we do together in sessions.

The Open University
I completed the first year of a BPS-accredited BSc (Hons) Psychology degree, and was awarded a CertHE in Psychology, before changing course to a degree in counselling & psychotherapy. This provided me with foundational knowledge in various areas of psychology, including: - Cognitive psychology (how we think + process & memorise information) - Behavioural psychology (why we do the things we do) - Developmental psychology (what makes us the way that we are) - Health psychology (internal & external influences on health & illness) - Social psychology (how we respond, react, and relate to others & the world around us) - Mental health & Counselling psychology (study of mental ill health conditions & what might cause/create/alleviate distress)
