*while my lived experience helps to provide me with personal insight & a baseline understanding, I'm mindful that my experiences might not be the same as yours, and I aim not to make any assumptions regarding your experiences

Lived experience

As someone with many marginalised identities myself, I know how valuable it can be to find a therapist with similar lived experiences*, who may be able to understand & empathise with you on a deeper level. If you're looking for more information on my approach, or my credentials, clicking the buttons below will take you directly to that information.

Being LGBTQ+/GSRD identifying in a predominantly heteronormative, cisnormative, and mononormative society.

My lived experience as a queer & genderqueer person has provided me with a lot of personal insight into both the joys of self-expression & existing beyond the binary, and the horrors of being perceived & navigating the current sociopolitical landscape for trans and gender diverse people in the UK. Anyone who identifies as Gender, Sexuality, Relationship Diverse (GSRD) is welcome here. This includes: LGBTQ+, trans & gender-diverse people, as well as people exploring their identity, sexuality, or non-traditional relationship structures such as polyamory/non-monogamy/relationship anarchy.

Living with chronic illness/dynamic disability

As someone with lived experience of chronic illness and living with a dynamic disability, I know how challenging it can be to manage the physical, emotional, and psychological impact of ongoing health conditions. I also know from my experience as both a therapist & a client in my own personal therapy, how beneficial and valuable it can be to work with a therapist who listens and seeks to understand without minimising symptoms or reducing a person to their diagnosis.

being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world

As a late diagnosed AuDHD person, I know how exhausting it can be to feel as though you have to perform to neurotypical standards/expectations, else have your experiences judged and/or pathologised. I aim to offer a safe, supportive, and affirming space where you can feel free to unmask & show up exactly as you are. Neurospicy ways of processing, thinking, communicating, and relating are welcome here, and I aim to adapt my approach accordingly.

Ultimately, we live in a world where our social identities undoubtedly shape our experiences of power, privilege, & oppression, and I aim to be mindful of how this might show up in our work together.
